Biography
Isaac Hall of Southwark Parish in the county of Surry, set his hand and seal to his Last Will and Testament on the 2nd day of [month not legible] 1728 marking a special bequest to his sons Lewis Hall and George Hall the plantation whereon I now live to be devided [sic] by a line as follows [note Page 41 torn]...upon the river bank thnce along the upper sid...cart path to the rode. [1] On the 7th day of April 1742 Lewis Hall and Judith Early his mother of the county of Surry sold to Robert Webb, Jr., of the same county, all that seat or tract of land lying in the county of Surry and bounded on the South East part Notttoway River...to the line that divd's this same land from land of the late John Spains deceased including including all the Seat or Tract of land devised to him the said Lewis Hall by his deceased father Isaac Halls will containing by estimation fifty acres.[2]
Lewis Hall moved to Craven County, North Carolina. On the 23rd day of August 1742, Lewis Hall, of the county of Craven in Carolina, sold to William Gilliam, of the Parish of Albemarle and county of Surry, all his, the said Lewis Hall's, Right Interest and Property of all his land lying and being in the County of Surry.[3] The Indenture was signed Lewis (X his mark) Hall.
He served in the Rev. War.[citation needed] This Lewis Hall would have been at least 61 years of age by 1776.
