Biography

Isaac Hall, Sr. was granted 30 pounds October 1690 for services as surgeon to the Army and was granted 150 acres in May, 1697, having served as surgeon and lost one son in service. Isaac was a physician in Stratford, where he died May, 1714.

He made a nuncupative will (dictated orally in final illness in front of witnesses and transcribed later) in May, 1714 that mentions wife Lydia; daughter Sarah, granddaughter Lydia Lane; Inv. 25 May 1714. James Bennett, Sr. and Johannah Odell testified to will 12 Oct. 1714, Adm'n to widow with her sons Francis and John.

Will of Lydia, widow to Dr. Isaac Hall, 1 Dec. 1716, proved 19 Dec 1716; son John Hall; daughter Abigail Jacox and her children. AGREEMENT 23 Oct 1714, between Sarah Hall ---- power from my husband Joseph Hall, and William Stites by marriage with marry, and Thomas JECOX by marriage with Abigail, and Ezekiel Baldwin by marriage with Hannah, which are the daughters of the decades Dr. Isaac Hall, all resident of Queens County, New York, ---appoint our brethren Francis and John Hall of Stratfield our attorneys to adjust controversy with our cousin Samuel Hall, heir to our deceased uncle Samuel Hall.

Isaac, Francis, John, and Jonathan Hall, all of Stratfield, for themselves and with authority from our Brethren that married our sisters Sarah, Elizabeth, Mary, Abigail, and Hannah, who with us are heirs to Estate of our father Mr. Isaac Hall, late of Stratfield; make agreement 20 Jan 1714/15, with Samuel Hall, only surviving son and heir to deceased uncle Samuel Hall, also of Stratfield, with respect to the Estate of our grandfather Mr. Francis Hall also of Stratfield, deceased. On page 252 they conveyed right to Francis and John Hall, right from father Isaac.[1]

Hall-9121 and Hall-733 appear to represent the same person because: Elizabeth (Unknown) Hall's maiden name was Thompson. Date and place of death are the same with the same name.

Dr. Isaac Hall's father was France Hall (1608-1690). He was married to Lydia Knapp (1647–1716) 16 Jan 1666 in Stamford, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States. Son Francis Hall (1676–1761) was born 26 Sep 1676 in Fairfield, Fairfield, Connecticut, United States.
