John was born in Medford, MA in 1720 and moved to Granville Township in 1760. He owned one of two schooners there at the time, his being "The John." He married (1st) Mary Keizer), who died in 1782, age 62, (2nd) Mary Kelly, about 1790. She was the widow of James Delap. Mary Keizer bore 10 children, including Elizabeth in 1761. Elizabeth is listed as marrying Capt. Henry Harris of Bear River.
