Marmaduke Hallas was born in Mirfield, Yorkshire in 1786, and baptised there on 27th July 1786, the son of John Hallas [1]
He married Rose Ann Ambler on 3rd May 1812 at Dewsbury, All Saints church. [2]
At the time of the 1841 census he was living in Lee Green, Mirfield, Yorkshire, with his wife Rose age 45, a confectioner, and his daughters Sarah age 11, and her younger sister Rose age 5. Marmaduke was age 50, and an ag lab [3]
Marmaduke continued to live at Lee Green, Mirfield, and in 1851 he was there with his wife Rose, age 66, a confectioner and his 21 year old daughter Sofiah, a power loom weaver. Marmaduke was age 64 and a seeds man [4]
He and Rose were living alone at Lee Green by the time the 1861 census was taken, and they were both still working as a seedsman and a confectioner [5]
Marmaduke died in September 1869, age 83, and was buried at Mirfield, Yorkshire on the 18th of that month. The register confirming his father as John Hallas. [6]
