• From Lucius Hallock (see 1st Peter): "The controlling influence in this incident (the fact that four Willets brothers married five Hallock daughters) seems to have been that they were all good honest Quakers. John Hallock and his wife, Abigail, were active members of the Society of Friends, much to the displeasure of his father William, who gave vent to his displeasure in his will" [meaning that he cut him out of it for not forsaking his Quaker religion. (JW)].

"Their graves are marked by small stones, rising little above the ground in the Friends corner."

From Brookhaven records: 1687-- John Tooker of Southold and formerly of Brookhaven sells to John Hallock, Carpenter, of Southold, "my dwelling house in Brookhaven with the barn cellar with the house over it" on land which he has had for 20 years.
