Charles Hamel [younger] was born on 30 April 1889 in Armidale, New South Wales, Australia [1]. He had an older brother, also named Charles, who was born in 1881 and died in 1883. Charles was the son of Heinrich (Henry) Hamel and [[Baumgartner-705|Frederika (Freda) Baumgartner] and the brother of Mary (Hamel) Grills, Anne (Hamel) Lyons, Henry Hamel, Lousia (Hamel) Ferris, John [elder] Hamel (1873-1874), John [younger] (Jack) Hamel, George Hamel, Elizabeth Lydia (Hamel) Somerville, Charles Hamel [elder] (1881-1883), Thomas Hamel and Isabella (Hamel) Pietsche.
He married Mary Frost on 15 June 1910 at Armidale, New South Wales Australia [2]and their children were Leslie George Hamel, Stanley Gordon Hamel, Alfred Charles Hamel, Frederick Francis Hamel, Athol Mervyn Hamel and Cecil John Hamel.
Charles died on 30 May 1959 at Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia [3] and was buried in the Glen Innes Cemetery, Glen Innes, New South Wales, Australia [4].
