Hockley Thomas Hamill was born on 21 September 1873 in Georgetown, Clear Creek County, Colorado, United States, son of William Arthur Hamill and Priscilla Leedom McKee.
In June 1880, Thomas H. Hamill lived with his parents, William A and Pricilla L., and siblings William A. Jr., Harry C., Hannah Elizabeth, and James N. in Georgetown, Clear Creek, Colorado. His father worked as a miner while his two oldest brothers were at college.[1]
On 4 June 1900, Thomas Hamill lived on Argentine Street in Georgetown, Clear Creek County, Colorado in the household of his parents, William and Priscilla Hamill, with his brother Thomas and a servant Rebecca Shellenburgh. Hockley Thomas was Postmaster. His father was a mine manager. Hockley's future wife Katherine Haggard lived nearby.[2]
On 15 February 1899, Hockley was appointed postmaster of Georgetown, Colorado.[3]
Hockley married Katherine Bernadette Haggart on 8 January 1901 in Clear Creek, Colorado. They had at least six children.
In April 1910, Hocking T. and Katherine Hamill and their children William T., Katherine C., Mary P., James N., and Eleanor L. lived on Argentine Street in Georgetown, Clear Creek County, Colorado. Hickley was a postmaster for the United States government.[4]
Hockley Thomas Hamill registered for the World War I draft on 12 September 1918. He was living at 237 S. Logan in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. He was a bookkeeper for the Denver Gas and Electric Company. He was tall, slender, had gray eyes, brown hair, and had a defect in right ear.[5]
On 8 January 1920, Hockley and Katherine and their children William T., Katherine E., Priscilla, James N., Eleanor L., Thomas, Hannah, and Dorothy M.; as well as Katherine's mother Catherine Haggart lived at 236 S. Logan Street in Denver, Denver County, Colorado. They owned their home. Hockley was an accountant for the state compensation insurance department.[6]
On 10 April 1930, Hockley T. and Kathrine Hamill and their children Kathrine, Priscilla, James, Eleanor, Thomas, Hannah, Dorothy, and John lived at 237 S. Logan Street in Denver. They owned their home, valued at $2,500. They did not have a radio. Hockley was a bookkeeper for the State House. Daughter Katherine was a cashier at an auto supply company and daughter Priscilla was an office clerk for an insurance company.[7]
Hockley died on 11 December 1940 at his home in Denver after sufferinga
heart attack.[8]
He is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Denver, Denver County, Colorado.[9]
