Alexander Hamilton is a member of Clan Hamilton.
Alexander was the son of James Hamilton by his first wife Margaret Mowat.
Research Notes
- Sources differ on whether certain sons were children of the first or second wife of James Hamilton. Paul leaves him out entirely.[1] Others assign him to Grizzel Semple.[2] That Grizzel could have had so many children is not tenable given her age and the duration of the marriage.
