Lady Susanna Hamilton was born in 1667. [1],[2] She was the daughter of William Douglas-Hamilton, 1st Earl of Selkirk and Anne Hamilton, 3rd Duchess of Hamilton. [1]
She married, firstly, John Cochrane, 2nd Earl of Dundonald, son of William Cochrane, Lord Cochrane and Lady Catherine Kennedy, after 17 November 1684. [3]
She married, secondly, Charles Hay, 3rd Marquess of Tweeddale, son of John Hay, 2nd Marquess of Tweeddale and Lady Mary Maitland, circa 1694. [1]
From after 17 November 1684, her married name became Cochrane.
From circa 1694, her married name became Hay. As a result of her marriage, Lady Susanna Hamilton was styled as Marchioness of Tweeddale on 20 April 1713.
She died on 7 February 1736/37. [1]
