Obituary
MRS. GLASSER.
A very old and respected identity of the district passed over to the great majority yesterday afternoon at about half-past three, in the person of Mrs. Glasser, of 'Briarfield.' Deceased had been practically an invalid for the last four years, and bore her long illness with great fortitude and resignation. The late Mrs. Glasser was born at Achill, County Mayo, Ireland, and when quite a young woman came, with her parents, to Sydney, and after a short sojourn there removed to Armidale about the year I860, where she married, and with her husband went to Inverell, where they remained for a short time. On quitting lnverell Mr. Glasser set up his home at 'Briarfield,' where he resided till his death in July last. The late Mrs. Glasser, who was 80 years of age, was a woman of sterling character, and her death will recall many of her kindly and charitable acts. She is survived by six sons—Messrs. C. W. (Ashford), J. J., Chris., and D. W. (Briarfield), James (Balgay), and. Robert (Gap View)— and one daughter, Mrs. W. E. Wilkinson (Chandler's Peak). One son and two daughters predeceased her. The body will be taken to Armidale tomorrow for interment in the Methodist Cemetery, where the remains of her husband lie. " Though the body dies the soul (hall live {or ever."[2]
