Biography

Daniel Hamilton was born April 13, 1823 to unknown parents^[1]. He appears to have had a sister Lois, who married James Killam, son of James Mattingly Killam^[2] in 1856, and had 2 children before she died. James remarried in 1862.

Daniel was the father of several children, including:

1. John Hamilton, born 1846, who married Sarah Trefry, the daughter of Joshua Pitman and Sarah Hurlburt Trefry of Tusket Lake^{[3] [2]}
2. Amanda Jane Hamilton, born 1855, who married Azor Porter^[4]
3. David Hamilton, born 1860, who married Elizabeth Brittain^[5]

His wife in the 1881 Census is Amy, who was also referred to as Anne^[6]. She may have been his second wife.

This record shows he died sometime after the 1901 Census
