Biography

While Ethel survived scarlett fever when she was a girl, her mental capacity was permanently diminished. She never married and lived at home with her father until his death. For the last decade of her life she continued to live at her father's home in New Blaine, with the help of her nearby sister Hazel Wood and other family members. She attended all family events and went to church with her sister Hazel Wood every week. The two sisters would always prepare flowers for the family graves at Pleasant Grove, Elizabeth Hall and Mt. Carmel cemeteries, and place the flowers the day before decoration day.
