DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with William by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with William:

I'm not certain that the Thomas Hamilton described here is the same person as that of the profile. If the comment concerns a man who was 45 years old in 1820, then his birth would have been ~1775 (19 years earlier than the Thomas Hamilton of the profile). A spouse named, "Margaret Humphries" introduces a new name. Since the name, "Thomas Hamilton" is not rare, I recommend caution in attributing other records to him. Even if such records come from nearby communities, they could refer to a son or a nephew.
