Biography

Charles and his sister Cora died within a week of each other in 1883, in a diphtheria epidemic according to county historians.

Charles is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford. The inscription on his grave marker reads:

Charles H. Hammond
Mar. 26, 1883
Aged 4y 4m 27d
ch. of E.A. & E.H.
