Arthur's exact birthdate appears in his Social Security death record and in Joan's application for naturalization.

During WW2, on 6 Jan 1943 in Syracuse NY, Arthur enlisted as a private in the US Army. His listed occupation was bookkeeper/cashier, and he had post-graduate education.

In the 1920 census he lived at 141 Herbst Ave, Syracuse NY. His name is given as William (his middle name), age 3 and 3/12, Onondaga, NY.

In the 1930 census, Arthur lived with his parents in Onondaga NY and was attending high school.

Arthur and Joan were married in 1937, at Onondaga Hill according to the wedding announcement.

In the 1940 census, Arthur (married) was living with his parents on Cordova Street in Onondaga, NY (same place in 1935). Joan was not present (but was in Baltimore--see her bio). Arthur worked for a bank, and was "head of block" whatever that means.

Arthur enlisted in the US Army in January 1943.

Arthur was living with Joan in Dania, FL in 1951 when she applied for naturalization.

Arthur and Joan were divorced in June 1957 in Florida.
