Earl's WW1 draft registration (Syracuse, NY, 5 June 1917)) gives his exact birthdate and place. He was a chauffeur with wife and 2 children, ages 23 and 7 months, which is a good match for sons George and Arthur.

In 1900 he lived (age 9) with his parents and siblings in Oswego, NY. In 1910 he lived (age 18) with his mother and younger siblings in Syracuse, Onondaga, NY. Earl appears in the 1920, 1930 and 1940 US censuses with wife and children, Onondaga, NY. Earl appears in the 1915 and 1925 New York state censuses, living in Onondaga.
