Biography
William R Hampton marries Mary Polly Chambers on 20 Feb 1866 Mary is listed on the record as Miss Mary Gately which is her name after her first marriage. [1]
I believe this may be William Rial Hampton. In The History of Carroll County, Tennessee, Vol 1 (I will have to look up the page number). The author lists the date of marriage as 1886, but I suspect this is a typo or a mistake. The records I have found show the marriage between Mary Gately and William R Hampton as 1866.
William Rial and his family attended the Mud Creek Baptist Church, according to some other research I found but I will have to look for the source again, which is the same church many of the Chambers/Belew family attended.
