Newry Telegraph, 1 May 1832, p 3
On the 24th ult., at Ballywilly, near Kilmore, Mr. William Hampton, at the advanced age of 102 years. It is an extraordinary fact that, during so long a life, he never suffered any illness, until a short time previous to his decease, and retained the perfect use of his mental faculties to his last moments. He was a lineal descendant from Primate Hampton, of Armagh; and, though in a comparatively humble rank of life, he, by integrity and unimpeachable character secured from the relatives and successors of that Prelate the kindness and attention due to his worth and respectability. His remains were attended to the grave by his numerous friends and relatives.
His will has not survived but was indexed as William Hampton, Ballywilly, Armagh, 10 April 1832[1] Probare was granted in 1833.[2]
