Biography

Elijah Hamrick was born in 1774 in Old Tryon County, British Province of North Carolina, the son of Samuel Hamrick and Mary Hamrick. He was the brother of David Hamrick, Sarah S. (Hamrick) McSwain and Reuben Hamrick.

Elijah married first Mary McSwain. They had the following children:

  1. William Hamrick,
  2. David Hamrick,
  3. Judith (Hamrick) McSwain
  4. James Hamrick
  5. Mary Hamrick
  6. Elijah Hamrick
  7. Sarah Elizabeth Hamrick
  8. Samuel Hamrick[1]

Elijah married second Margaret McSwain. They had the following children:

  1. George Robertson Hamrick b: Abt 1819 in North Carolina
  2. Jonathan McSwain Hamrick b: 1821 in North Carolina
  3. Catherine M. Hamrick b: 1 Feb 1823 in North Carolina
  4. Nancy Hamrick b: Abt 1825 in North Carolina
  5. Sarah Hamrick b: 17 Jul 1825 in North Carolina

Elijah died in 1835 in Boiling Springs, Cleveland County, North Carolina, United States.[2]
