Frances "Fanny" Hancock was born in 1796. She passed away in 1875.
Fanny was the daughter of William and Martha (Henderson) Hancock; William was the son of Clement and Isabelle Hancock.[1]
She married George Finley in Tennessee in 1812: George Finley (born 1789, KY) married Frances Hancock (born 1796, SC).[2] George was the son of George (baptized 1-30-1743, Augusta Co.; died before 12-19-1817, Wilson County, Tennessee), who married twice: (1) Ann Newland, (2) Mary Gaines. Fanny's husband was the son of George's second wife, Mary. George and Ann (Newland) Finley also had a son named George who was born in 1765 and married Mary Chenoweth (again, according to DAR records).[3]
Their son Bluford was born in Tennessee in 1830; he married Adalade Johnson.[1]
George and Frances Finley are in Indiana by the time of the 1850 Census, with the following children in their household (all born in Indiana).[4]
George (head), 61, born in Kentucky; Frances, 53, born in South Carolina[4]
George died before the 1860 census; by the 1870 census, Frances was 73 and living in the household of James D. Finley (her son, age 32).[5]
Frances died 9 January 1875, and is buried at Mount Salem Cemetery, Monroe County, Indiana.[6][7]
