John Hancock listed in his will proved in 1819.[1] He was the first child of Nathan Hancock and Prudence White, born in 1738 Massachusetts one year after his famous 2nd cousin John Hancock of signature fame. He married Mary Walker in 1761[2]. He was buried with his wife in Hilltop Cemetery, in Orland, Maine. [3]
John was an early settler in Orland, Maine. He was a Mason and the first town treasurer.
