There's a Virginia marriage record for John A. Hancock and Carrie Satterwhite that give his parents names as John and Eliza. I know this John Hancock's mother's name was Martha. I find two marriage records for a John H. Hancock, parents John and Martha, where his spouses were America Howell (first marriage) and Dorothy Vaughan Martin (second marriage). My great-grandfather was a Hancock from Bedford County and he had a ton of cousins (the family had been in the area since Jamestown), so I think there were several John Hancocks.
