Absalom Hanks was born in 1799 or 1800 (his Find A Grave profile states 6 December 1800) in Virginia[1][2][3] to Thomas and Elizabeth (Ryan) Hanks.[3][4][citation needed]
He married Harriet Climer in 1824 in Ross County.[3][5]

↑It is not typically disputed that Absalom was the son of Thomas, however the best evidence found for the relationship is that Absolom's census data reflect his birth in Virginia at a time Thomas was there, and that he appears in Ross County, Ohio when Thomas was known to have moved there.
