Biography

Sir Thomas Hanmer (1526-1583) was the 1st s. of Sir Thomas Hanmer of Hanmer by 1st w. Jane, da. of Sir Randal Brereton of Malpas, Cheshire. He m. Catherine, da. and h. of Thomas Salter of Oswestry, Salop, they had 3s. inc. John and 1da. He suc. fa. 1545, Kntd. 22 Feb. 1547. High Sheriff of Flintshire 1553-4, 1569-70 and died c.1583.

Thomas was knighted in Musselborough Field, in 1464.[1] page 31
