Johanna was born Amptschryver. Her first marriage to Jacob Richter in 1852 produced two children Ernst & Marie. They both stayed in Denmark. She married Hans Hansen & immigrated to New zealand in 1874. The ship Palmerston sailed from Hamburg on the 29th July last, with 228 emigrants for Otago. She anchored in the Downs on the 7th August, and left the following day. The Palmerston is a four-masted iron ship of 950 tons register, built by Laird, of Birkrnhead, as a steamer, and about six years ago converted into a sailing ship.
