Biography

Gusta's family -Martin Hansen born 1832 married to Kristine Toresdatter Støtterud born 1832 -there was a good deed on the property in 1874/75 for 650 riksdaler [unit of money]. Nordgarden was the same year formally apportioned and tax was established. Martin had in 1879 to lend 1800 kr on security from J. M. Weng. Martin did not manage to pay back, and already the year after there were held execution. The lender got all Søstua and the forest of Stua-Tveiter, and sold in 1898 the farm to Edvard Nilsen Søstua for 3200 kr. This way Stua-Tveiter was gone together with Søstua. Martin and Kristine had the children Karen born 1854 married to Anton Eriksen Dølahaugen, Hans born 1856 log driver, Tea born 1858 married to Karl Gustav Paulsen Tveiter, to Lillestrøm, August born 1860 timber hauler, to U.S.A., Martin born 1862, Dyvart born 1867, Gusta born 1869, Kasper born 1871, Otto Julius born 1877 emigrated in 1894 to America, Bertrand (Fjell) born 1874 married to Nina Ekelund.Martin became the last farmer on the independent farm Stua Tveiter. This farm disappeared entirely after his age. The different members of the old farmer family had to find by different means to find other ways to support themselves. Martin himself was lodge driver beside being a farmer. He did also enjoy hunting in the forest with a gun and catch birds and game (small) with stick and trap.
