Karen Hansen^{[1][2][3][4][5]} was born 15 Dec1844. The source gives the date as 16 Dec 1844 but since all family history uses 15 Dec 1844 that date has been used at Flemløse, Odense, Denmark^[6][7][8][9]. She was christened 2 Feb 1845 at Flemløse, Odense, Denmark^[10]

In 02 Jul 1846. Karen was vaccinated for smallpox by Dr. Hempel./Flemløse, Odense, Denmark

She immigrated in 1872. No information on Karen's trip from Denmark to Chicago has yet been found. We know from the 1910 Census that she immigrated in 1872 to Chicago, Cook, Illinois, USA^[11]
