Biography

Carrie was the daughter of Burris Harden and Elizabeth Homen.

Carrie married (1) John Perry Hill. ^[1]

They had a son, Plin Sanford Hill, born Feb. 4, 1878. Carrie and John Hill divorced in March, 1880. ^[2]

She married (2) Porter Rathbun on Oct. 9, 1880. ^[3]

They had a son, Porter, born Aug. 25, 1883. He was adopted shortly after birth and was known as Porter Rathburn Thomas.

Carrie and Porter Rathbun divorced in 1884.

"WANTS A DIVORCE

Porter Rathbun yesterday filed a petition asking the circuit court to grant him a divorce from his wife, Carrie Rathbun. In his petition he states that they were married in Pittsfield, Pike county, on October 8, 1880, and lived together until Jun 18, 1882, when she deserted him without cause. He also accuses her of adultery, stating that she gave birth to a child on July 14, 1884." ^[4]

Carrie married Henry Rutledge on July 26, 1890. ^[5]

Carrie married W. B. Clark. They had a son, George Monroe Clark, b. March 13, 1898.

Carrie Belle Clark died Nov. 4, 1918 in Quincy. Death record shows her parents' names, spouse's name, birth date and birth place. ^[6]
