Stephen (Harding) Hardin is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A050321.
Stephen Harding or Hardin was born circa 1749 in Essex County, New Jersey. In his youth, he joined the Monongalia militia during the American Revolutionary War. This Revolutionary War military service was in the state of Virginia.[1]
After the Revolutionary war, Stephen Harding lived in that portion of North Carolina that later became Tennessee for a time before migrating westward into Green County, Kentucky.[2]
Will and Probate Information
The will of Stephen "Hardin" can be found in the Green County Will Book 1, pages 140 and 141. The original will books have been scanned at the Family History Library.[3] His signature on the will is spelled "Harding," but the will is in the will book under "Hardin."
