It is estimated that 100,000 bags of wheat will be received in the Ultima yard before the season closes. Owing to the majority of the buying firms and the pool not having been trucking during the last week, stacks are growing rapidly, and pool stacks are already being roofed. Mr. and Mrs. Harding were bidden farewell at a social on Friday evening. Mr. Harding, who has been station-master for six and a half years, is leaving on promotion for Bacchus Marsh. The president of the Swan Hill Shire (Councillor Brydon) presided. Mr. Harding was secretary of the Ultima Memorial Reserve committee for four years, and did an immense amount of work in connection with the annual Easter Monday sports. The following spoke in appreciation of Mr. Harding's services:- Mr. T. Fleming (Returned Soldier's League), Mr. J. Drewett (rifle club), Dr. Farrar (golf and cricket clubs), Messrs. H Cuttle and C. J. Hodgen (townspeople), Mr. J. O'Brien (Memorial Reserve Committee), Mr. W. Brown and and Mr. W McGuinness (country residents). Councillor Brydon the presented Mr. Harding with a well-filled wallet of notes. Mr. Fogarty, of Wonthaggi, is the new station master.
