Biography

Grantee of Barrington. Theodore was born 11 Jun 1730 son of Theodore and Sarah Harding[1] [2]

He married Martha Sears 13 May 1756 at Eastham, MA[3] [2]. Their children included:

  1. Sarah b. 22 Dec 1756[2], who married Samuel Osborn Doane, son of Edmund Doane, another Barrington grantee. She died in 1843
  2. Chloe b. 03 Aug 1758[2], who married Jeremiah Frost, of Argyle, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia
  3. Josiah b. 15 Oct 1766[2], who married in 1793, Sarah Barnard of Nantucket. Their children included:
    1. Josiah who married Sarah Kenney, daughter of Gamaliel Kenney
    2. Theodore, born 1796, who married Elizabeth daughter of Edmund Doane
    3. Sophia who married Samuel Osborn, son of Jabez
    4. Margaret who married Edmund Doane, and then married Jeremiah Frost 2nd
    5. Sarah who married Thomas Smith, son of Jonathan Smith of Little River
    6. Elizabeth b. 1807 who married Jabez Crowell of Brass Hill
    7. Elvira who married Isaac Hopkins, son of Samuel Hopkins
    8. Robert b. 1811 who married Edith Crowell, daughter of Obediah
    9. John S. b. 1813
    10. Jeremiah, b. 1816
  4. Jerusha who married Ebenezer s. Thomas Crowell[2]
  5. Bethia who married Hugh Spiers of New York[2]
  6. Mercy who married Zara Smith son of David Smith[2]
  7. Theodore Seth (Rev.), born Mar. 14, 1773. who married Zeruiah Fitch, Wolfville[2]

Theodore and Martha were among the first grantees in Barrington, Nova Scotia. His brother Joshua was one of the first settlers in Liverpool, NS[2].

Martha, the wife of Theodore S. Harding died in 1824[2]
