William Hardidge was a Virginia colonist.
William Hardidge was part of a Southern Pioneer Family.

William Hardwick, V[1] married Frances (Gerard) Washington about 1678.[2] He died some time before 28 Mar 1694 when his will was probated.[3]

William appears to have arrived in Virginia about 1673 to take over his father's estate then returned to England for a short time. He came back in 1674. Following his return, William was very active in political life in Westmoreland County. He was elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1682, 1685-86, 1688, 1691-92, and 1693.[4] [5]

3/28/1694 - last will & testament of Wm Hardidge decd produced in court (Frances decd since John Newton & John Sturman are executors)

3/25/1696 - Elizabeth Hardidge came into court & elected Benjamin Blanchflower to be guardian (Frances & Wm Hardidge both decd)

Birth Date

William could not have been born in 1643. The will of his father William Hardwick dated 24 October 1668 states son William is to continue his schooling until he reaches age 21. He had to have been born after 1647. His parents, William Hardwick and Elizabeth Sturman Hardwick, were estimated to have been married about 1654, although no marriage record has been found. William Hardwick, his second wife Margaret Pope Hardwick and William, Jr., sailed for England between 1665-1668. William came back Virginia to take over his father's estate in 1673 then returned to England for a short time. He returned to Westmoreland County, Virginia about 1674. Since he had to have been at least 21 to inherit his father's property in 1673, he was probably born about 1652 in Northumberland County, Virginia Colony.
