- "William Wilson Akin was born 21 Sep 1808 in Halifax County, Virginia, a son of Armistead Akin and Lucy Wilson (who were married 17 Dec 1802, also in Halifax County, Virginia).Lucy Wilson was born 17 Dec 1787, the oldest child of William Wilson Sr. and Catherine/Katy Jett Hardwick Wilson.Lucy and Armistead Akin's two older children were Smith Akin, born 24 Aug 1804, and Nancy N. Akin, born 24 Mar 1806.The preceeding information is from the William Wilson Sr. family bible.Armistead and Lucy Akin also had at least two other children, Rebekah Akin and John Akin, who were mentioned in their grandfather William Wilson's will of 1843 in Halifax County, VA.In 1815, William Wilson gifted land on Birch Creek to his grandsons Smith and William W.
