Private John Hardy Sr. served with North Carolina Militia during the American Revolution.

John Hardy was a member of the Patriot Troops serving under Col Elisha Clarke. Received bounty land in Georgia for his service. Married 1778 Sarah Sutton (1758-1812. Known Ch: John Jr., Jesse, Penelope, Sutton. [1]
