Biography

Lou was born 4 Dec 1869 in Magnolia, Harrison, Iowa died 10 Jun 1943, Seattle, King County, Washington. [1] Died from the flu and would not take the sulfer the doctor prescribed. and is buried Acacia Cemetery, Seattle, Washington.

Lou enjoyed music and played the fiddle, harmonica, mandolin. He played music by ear. He also enjoyed to listen to the radio and play music on his phonograph.

Politically Lou never registered to vote, apparently he thought because of the electoral college and his vote would not make a difference. [2]

Last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hardy received a telegram announcing the deathe of Myra, their son Lew's wife. A few days prior a letter had been received stating that Mrs. Hardy had typhoid fever, but she seemed to be improving hence the message Sunday came as a shock. Mrs. Hardy will be rememberd here as Myra Scofield and Mr. Hardy has the sincere sympathy of his many friends in his hour of bereavement. Logan Nucleus Feb 6, 1902 page 4.
Myra C. wife of l.W. Hardy died at her home in Boulder, Colorado, February 2nd, 1902 of child bed fever. She was a daughter of C. G. Scofield born July 9, 1872 and was married to L.W. Hardy April 2nd, 1894. the remains were brought to Alliance, Nebraska, and laid at rest in Greenwood cemetery, she leaves a husband and five children to mourn the loss of a kind and loving wife and mother.
