Adeline Matilda Harkey was born January 3, 1842[1] in Dardanelle, Pope County, Arkansas, USA. She was the daughter of Israel Matthias Harkey and Catherine (Furr) Harkey. At Age 7, she was in her parent's home in Chickalah Twp., Yell county, Araknsas, along with 2 of her siblings.[2]
Adeline married Barlowe Trowbridge on 1 May 1859 in San Saba, San Saba, Texas.[3] The couple had 9 children:
They started out in San Saba county, Texas, in 1860, where at age 18, she was taking care of the home and their first born, George 5 months old, and and Barlow (age 30) was raising Stock.[6]
In the 1880 census Adeline (age 38) and Barlow (age 52) were living in Lampasas, Texas, USA. where she kept the home and raised children, while He farmed. Marital Status: Married; Relation to Head of House: Wife[7]
Her husband passed away February 12, 1897 in Texas.[1]
By 1900, she was in in Regency, Mills County, Texas, widowed (age 58) she was running the home with her son's Will-34, and Sam-22 doing the Farming.[8]
In 1910, Adeline (age 68 and widowed) was in Justice Precinct 4, Mills County, Texas, in her son William B Trowbridge's home.[9]
Adeline died at the age of 71 on 30 August 1913 in Goldthwaite, Mills, Texas, and was buried next to her husband in the Lower Big Valley Cemetery there.[1]
