Biography

Sharon Lee Harkness was born on 03 Jul 1947 in Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan to parents Richard James Harkness and Elaine Florence Allen. She is the oldest of seven children in the family.

She graduated from Muskegon High School and earned a Bachelors Degree from Western Michigan University and a Masters Degree in Science from Grand Valley State University. Sharon worked for 31 years as a medical technologist at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan and was a member of the American Clinical Pathologist Association.

On 01 Aug 1970, Sharon married William Joseph Phillips at Calvary Baptist Church in Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan.

Together they raised three children: Melissa (Nigel) Girling of Poole England, United Kingdom, Rebecca Phillips of Muskegon, Michigan and Jonathon (Teresa) Phillips of Rockford, Michigan.

She was an avid reader of books, relished the lake view out her front window, and adored her cats and of course her grand-children.

She died on 13 Jun 2015 at home on Blue Lake, Spencer Township, Kent County, Michigan. She was 66 years old.

Memorial Services were held at the Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, Michigan on 17 Jun 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Robert Winter officiating.

Burial: Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend. Specifically: Ashes to be scattered at a later date based on wishes expressed by Sharon. [Add Plot]
