Biography

[Thomas Horton] He married Susannah (Unknown) Keney [ also given as Kenny ], on 25 Dec. 1693. d. bef. June 1700; widow of John Keney of Milton . [1]

Thomas Horton, of Welsh ancestry, according to family tradition, was a relative of Thomas Horton, of Charlestown, mentioned above. He settled in Milton, Massachusetts, formerly Dorchester, as early as 1669. His first wife Sarah appears to have been a member of the church at Braintree, where her son Thomas was baptized in 1677. Thomas Horton married (second) at Milton, December 25, 1693, Susannah Keney. [page 1163]

His sons settled at Milton and Rehoboth, and he was doubtless the progenitor of all the Rhode Island Hortons of colonial days. Children, born at Milton, by first wife: Rachel, August 6, 1669; John, June 6, 1672, settled in Rehoboth; Thomas, October 3, 1677; David, mentioned below; Solomon, January 11, 1782, lived at Milton and Rehoboth ; Esther, married at Rehoboth, April ID, 1701, Benjamin Viall. Perhaps other children. [2]

  • Sarah Harmon was born on March 3, 1652, in Braintree, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, the daughter of Nathaniel and Mary Harmon.[3]

Harmon-957 and Harmon-437 appear to represent the same person because: Death and Parents are the same. There is no 1642 record of birth for Sarah. I should be 1652. But these are surely the same person
