1806, November 10 - Spartanburg Co., SC. Andrew Harmon appeared to serve on petite jury. From the Minutes of the Court of General Sessions 1806-1808. "Old Spartanburg District Genealogy" Vol. 1, No. 1, page 18, March 1986.

1810 December 25 - Spartanburg Co., SC. Found in loose papers for Spartanburg Co. at the South Carolina Archives in Columbia SC. No. 6. Ex Parte, ANDREW HARMON, Petition for Naturalization. South Carolina, Spartanburgh District. To the Honorable Judges of the Court of Common Pleas in Said State. The humble petition of Andrew Harmon sheweth that your petitioner is a subject of the Kingdom of Great Britain and hath resided in the District and State aforesaid upwards of Fourteen years last past and being desirous to renounce his allegiance to the King of Great Britain and become a citizen of the United States. Pray your honor to take his case into consideration and if the testimonials of his moral character and attachment to the principles of the Constitution of the United States shall be found satisfactory that he may be permitted to the priviledges of Citizenship in this State and the United States according to the Laws and customs thereof. [not dated]. Andrew Hermon (signed). We whose names are under written do hereby certify that we have been acquainted with Andrew Harmon the petitioner for the term of fourteen years past during which time he hath resided in the District of Spartanburgh and State aforesaid and hath ever conducted himself as an honest, moral and peaceable man, entirely conformable to the principles of the Constitution of the United Statesto which he hath ever expressed an attachment. Given under our hand this 25 December 1810. Christe Golightly, H. Foster, J. M. Davitt, Z. McDaniel, John Means, W.S. Golightly, John Lipscomb J,Q., H. Means J.Q., William Reid J.P., John Tollison and W. Lancaster. South Carolina, Spartanburgh District. Personally appeared And'w Harmon in open court and being duly sworn on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God saith that he doth absolutely and intirely renounce, and abjure all allegiance and Fidelity to every foreign Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatsoever and particularly the King of Great Britain whereof he is a subject and that he will support, protect and defend the Constitution of this State and the United States of America. 1830, September 5 - Spartanburg Co., SC. Andrew witnessed John Harmon's will.

1831, December 17 - Spartanburg Co., SC. Signs administrative papers in the estate of John Harmon.

1835, February 4 - Spartanburg Co., SC. Andew sells land to William Harmon. I suspect that William and Andrew are brothers. Deed as follows: In consideration of the sum of two hundred and thirty four dollars to me in hand paid by William Harmon of the district and state aforesaid have granted, bargain, sold and released unto the said William Harmon, a certain track of lend situated in the district and state aforesaid and the branch of Mill Creek Containing fifty seven acres, Beginning at the stakex3 on Nath Gist line and turns N.43 E.37.50, Nath Gist line to a post oak x111. Thence S 47.E.7 with Gist line to an ash x111. by a branch, thence N.40.W17.80 to a stake x111 by an old field bordered by James Harmon land, thence N,60.W.5.00. to a red oak x111. bordered by A.W.L. McBride Land, thence S.30-1/4 E.14.50 to the beginning bordered by McBride and N. Gist land. Together with all and Singular the rights members, hereditaments and appurtenancas there unto belonging or in any wise incendent or appertaining thereunto; to have and to hold all and singular the premises before mentioned to the said William Harmon, his heirs and assigns forever and I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators to warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said William Harmon, his heirs and assign against myself, my heirs and assigns and against every person whosoever claiming the same or any part thereof. Given under my hand and seal this fourth day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight-hundred and thirty five, Signed, Sealed and delivered in the presence of John (G or B) Harmon Sam'l Harmon

Harmon the wife of the within named Andrew Harmon did this day appear before me, and upon being privately and separately examined by me did declare that she did freely voluntarily and without any compulsion, dread or fear of any person or persons whatsoever renounce release and forever relinquish unto the within named William Harmon his heirs and assigns all her interest and estate and also all her rights and claim of dower of in or to all and singular the premises within Mentioned and released. Sign the within deed of conveyance to William Harmon far the use and Purpose therein mentioned and that he saw John B Harmon sign and subscribing witness with himself. Harmon-5629 needs to be merged with 3306. They are obviously the same person. I apologize. When I added my family it did not show a duplicate.
