Anna Harney was born about 1856, probably in New York. [1] or between 1861 [2] and 1863. [3] The information is sufficiently vague to cause speculation that there were 2 different women married to Joseph Johnston.
She married Joseph Johnston about 1877 and they lived in Oakland, California.
Very little is known about this person. can you help?
Joseph's family in Mono, Ontario thought he married Anna Harney. The 1880 census shows him with a wife, Fannie, born in Illinois. The 1900 census shows his wife as Anna, born in New York, both married 21 years and the 1910 census matches. When Camille, born in 1879, gave her mother's name for marriage registration, it was "Alicia Marea". Howard's birth record (1881) calls his mother "Annie Mclaughton". Camille gave her mother's birthplace to be New York for both the 1920 and 1930 census records.
