Harriet Lucretia Harrell was born October 30, 1855, the daughter of William Harrell and Nancy Blackburn White, She was the wife of Josiah Carter, the son of William Barnes Carter and Elizabeth Mattingly. Harriet Harrell and Josiah Carter were the parents of the following children born in Grayson County:

Harriet Lucretia (Harrell) Carter died in Grayson County at the age of 73 on December 13, 1928. She was buried in the Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Duff, Grayson County, Kentucky. Her husband Josiah Carter joined her there after his death at the age of 86 on March 10, 1939. [1]
