Woody Harrelson is an American actor and playwright. He is known for his roles in Cheers, The People vs. Larry Flynt, White Men Can't Jump, and True Detective.
Woodrow Tracy Harrelson was born July 23, 1961 in Midland, Texas. His parents are Charles Voyd Harrelson, a convicted hitman, and Diane (Oswalde) Harrelson. He was raised by his mother, as his father spent most of his life in prison for the murder of a federal judge. Due to living only on his mother's income, Woody grew up poor. The family moved from Midland to her hometown of Lebanon, Ohio in 1973.
Woody married Nancy Simon, daughter of playwright Neil Simon, in 1985 in Tijuana. They divorced after 10 months.
Woody married Laura Louie, co-founder of Yoganics, in 2008. They have three daughters together.
