Other Harrelson Connections

"There are several Martin Davenport, Sr., genealogies circulating which identify his wife as Dorothy Harrelson, which is surely based on the facts that Paul Harrelson [Jr.] ...

  1. was a neighbor to Martin in Hanover
  2. witnessed Martin's Will, and
  3. was bondsman for Dorothy as executrix of the Estate. The Harrelson association with the Davenports was limited to those three events, all within a few months in 1735. [1]

The Harrelsons came to the Hanover neighborhood from a different direction and departed sooner and in a different direction than the Davenports. [1]

Two Harrelson wills were recorded in Hanover just prior to Martin's -- one of Paul Harrelson, Sr., and one for Harrelson, Sr.'s eldest son Peter. Both were detailed in identifying heirs, mentioned no Dorothy, no Davenports, and no one closely associated with the Davenports, and included no Davenport witnesses. There were no Davenports associated with the Harrelsons in their migration from Virginia or in their settlements in the Carolinas. Nor were there any Harrelsons associated with the Davenports in their migrations." [1]

Glover-8059 and Glover-7554 appear to represent the same person because: Name, birth, and death information

This person is probably connected to the wrong mother, since she is too young for this person and the 'siblings' were born much later, matching the mother's birth year.

Yes the current dates say that she was born when her mother Patience was only 2 years old ! I cannot see any good sources for that connection. It has been over a year and no research has been added. Perhaps it is time to detach Patience as a possible mother ?

The mother must have arrived on the profile through the merge with a Harrelson, as I can't imagine she was there when I last edited the profile. The mother has been disconnected with a note added under research notes.

I have re-added subheadings which were removed, as these aid research by assisting the reader to quickly identify what information is addressed in any way. I have retained the "unsourced" category because, while there are citations showing where some information came from, none of it is reliable!
