Biography

William Archie Christine was born about 1852. He is the son of Samuel Harrelson and Patience Lewis, and married Susanne Martin. Their children included:

1. James Harrelson (bc 1874)
2. Hugh G. Harrelson (1880-1934)
3. William E. Harrelson (1882-1927)
4. Elizabeth "Lizzie" Harrelson (bc 1887)
5. Fannie Harrelson (bc 1888)
6. Murray Tate Harrelson (1889-1965)
7. Sandy Harrrelson (bc 1892)

These children are found on death records that cite the father's and mother's names, and the children's birth and death dates and locations.

Research Notes

I've removed James Harrelson as the father since his birth date is 20 years after the son's and 50 year's after his wife's. This probably came from an imported Ancestry profile that has all of the relationships intermingled. The parents of this person, cited on the 1850 census in Horry County, South Carolina are Samuel Harrelson (bc 1824) and his wife, Jane (1816). The children on the 1850 census include:

1. M.I. Harrelson (female, age 8)
2. W. H. Harrelson (male, age 5)
3. J. M. Harrelson (male, age 3)
4. Wm. A. E. Harrelson (this profile, male, age 1)

A 16-year-old female, Sarah Causey, is also in the household. Two farms up the road appears the household of John Harrelson, age 39; a female, age 54 (whose first name is illegible but it looks like it includes "E.A." Harrelson); Nelson Harrelson, age 19; Lydia Lovett, age 16; Wm. Dunkin, age 5; and John Causey, age 15.

Further down the page is a W. E. Harrelson (male), age 25; A. J. Harrelson (female), age 22; G. W. Harrelson (male), age 3; Joseph Harrelson, age 2; D. M. Harrelson (male), age 1. The close pages of this census is full of Harrelson, Causey, and Lovett, suggesting that these families intermarried and stayed close to home in Horry County.

I've left Patience (Lewis) Harrelson as the mother, as the birth date is possible; however, the 1850 census lists "Jane" as the wife of Samuel Foxworth Harrelson, with Wm. A.E. Harrelson in the household, and the death certificate for Archie's brother, John Monroe, lists his mother as Jane McDaniels.
