DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Abner by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
Additional DNA testers among Harris and Hutchinson relations leads FamilyTreeDNA to estimate common ancestor in 1400s or 1500s (i.e., England, not Massachusetts). Gale Ion Harris, coeditor of The Genealogist (American Society of Genealogists), concludes: "The DNA results seem to agree with what we already suspect; i.e., that he was most likely a recent immigrant to the Boston area. I agree that "Jackson" as middle name for the son is probably a big fat clue; if we only understood what it means."
Abner was my 6th great grandfather. My Family Tree DNA Big Y test (9/27/2022) matches with patrilineal ancestry from Richard Hutchinson (abt.1602-bef.1682) of Nottingham, Eng. and Salem, Mass. Suggests Abner was adopted/born out-of-wedlock. This would explain why we can't find record of his parentage or immigration.
Lawrence Jackson Harris had another son missing from your tree, Captain Moses Little Harris b.25 Dec 1772 d.01 Dec 1820, Greene, Androscoggin ,Maine. The better place for this discussion will be on Lawrence's profile, as that is where any additional connections through him will need to be added. If you have sources and do the pre-1700 certification (a very simple process), you will be able to add the connection yourself. Just open discussion with the profile managers first to be sure there's no difficulty.
