In 1860, William and his family were living in Patrick County, Virginia with John Graham and his family. The census records make it appear that the property was owned by John Graham. A property records search will need to be done to clarify this. William's father was a farmer.[1]
On January 8, 1874, William married Lucinda E. Foley in Patrick County, Virginia. He was 21 and she was 16.[2]
