Biography

Martin family history. No sources given, but records are handed down. According to my records Mary Sarah Harris was born 11 Jun 1747 and married first James Martin. After his death,1799, she married second George Jones. This is per records of my 2nd cousin James Martin whose sister is Mary, names taken from this marriage.

Martin, James.--To son Azariah, land in Clark Co.; son Christopher, land in Clark Co.; son David, land in Clark Co.; three sons: Wm., Tyree, Robert, tract bought of Laurence Thompson; son, Wm.; sons, Hudson and Nathan; wife Sarah; grandson David, son of son, Jame, deceased; son-in-law, Pleasant Proffit and his wife Mary. Extrs.: wife and sons, Wm., Tyree ,and Robt. Written July 5 1796. Wits.: Jas. French, Green Clay. Probated March, 1799.[1]

R Hayes (over) Jacob Martin & Elizabeth Dunham son Enoch (Next card) Jeremiah Martin Son of William and Elizabeth Martin of Mendham -Morris Co, NJ. Wm left a will dated Sept 15 1767 prob. (or prov), Oct 29 1767. Children of William and Elizabeth: Elijah Martin Rhodie Martin (poorly legible) Peter Martin William Martin Azariah Martin Jeremiah Martin Elizabeth Martin
