Francis Harris was born about 1839 in London, England to Henry Harris and Ann Honora (Leahy) Harris.
In 1841 Francis Hariss (age 3) lived in Greenford, Middlesex with his father Henry (30), mother Ann (20), and brother William (0).[1]
In 1851 Francis Harris (age 12) lived in Northolt, Middlesex with his father Henry (42, Ag Lab), mother Ann (30), and two brothers: William (11) and Thomas (7), as well as boarder Hannah Bowdon (29).[2]
In 1861 Francis Harris (age 21, Agricultural Labourer) was a boarder in Greenford.[3]
Francis Harris (Bachelor, Cow Keeper, son of Henry Harris, Dealer) married Mary Van (Spinster, daughter of Richard Van, Cow Keeper) on 12 Oct 1865 at All Saints Church in Paddington, Middlesex.[4] The marriage was registered in Kensington, London in the last quarter of the year.[5]
In 1871 Francis Harris (age 30, Agricultural Labourer) lived in Acton, Middlesex with his wife Mary (29) and three children: Emma (4, Scholar), Richard (3), and Harriet (0), as well as two visitors: John Adams (20, Labourer) and Ellen Henstridge (16).[6]
In 1881 Francis Harris (age 40, Pig Dealer) lived at Old Oak Common in Hammersmith, London with his wife Mary (40) and five children: Emma L (14, Scholar), Richard H (12, Scholar), Harriet J (11, Scholar), Frank N (8, Scholar), and Joseph W (3), as well as sister-in-law Emma Van (30) and niece Caroline Harris (15, Scholar).[7]

In 1901 Francis Harris (age 60, Carman (Brick Works)) lived in Hammersmith with his wife Mary (59), daughter Harriett Jane (31, Teacher (Achon School Board)), and son Joseph William (23, Storekeeper).[8]
On the 1911 census, Francis' wife Mary Harris (70) was living in Norwood, Southhall, Middlesex with their daughter Harriet Jane Harris (42, School Teacher). Although Francis is not recorded, Mary's relationship to head of household is "wife" and she is listed as married.
Francis Harris passed away in 1927, aged 86 years. His death was registered in Uxbridge in the first quarter of the year.[9]
"HARRIS Francis of 12 Norwood-road Southall Middlesex died 6 March 1927 at 1 Colham Green Hillingdon East Middlesex Administration (with Will) London 29 April to Richard Harris insurance official. Effects £14 10s."[10]
