Research Notes
It is a wide-spread theory that Thomas Harris who married Ruth James, (and is the father of Nathaniel, Samuel and Thomas Jr.) is the son of Daniel and Mary (Weld) Harris. The theory has been disproved, and Thomas Harris' father is now believed to be John Harris.
Thomas Harris, born 1657, son of Daniel and Mary (Weld) Harris of Fairfield, CT, is not the father of the three brothers, Nathaniel Harris, Thomas Harris, and Samuel Harris who lived in Cumberland County, New Jersey in 1715.[3] Mr. Sheppard, whose work was reviewed by Donald Lines Jacobus, states that it has been disproved that Thomas Harris (Jr) and his brothers Samuel and Nathaniel, of New Jersey (1715), could be the sons of Thomas, son of Daniel and Mary (Weld) Harris.

Thomas Harris did not die in Killingworth, that was the home of the other Thomas Harris.
There is no Killingworth in Fairfield county CT
Killingworth was "part of New London County prior to May 1785, Killingworth was then included in the newly formed Middlesex County, where it remains today." Wikipedia.
The original profile was uploaded to WikiTree with "Fairfield, Fairfield, CT" as the location of Thomas Harris' death. The profile should be restored to its original data for his death.
I confess that geographical locations are hobby of mine - they have been helpful in distinguishing families with the same name, etc.
For the location of the birth of Thomas Harris, the county MIddlesex - (Wikipedia) was formed 85 years after Thomas died. When he was born in what was later named Middlesex, it was in its original county of Hartford, so his birth location needs to say Hartford for his birth of 1657. WikiTree uses the name of the location as it was at the time of the event.
Please notice that the profile for this Thomas Harris has been confused with Harris-10457. I have set down the facts and sources under the new Research Notes section.
We need to have a family of Thomas Harris-10457, husband of Ruth James and father of Nathaniel Harris, and father to Thomas Harris and Samuel Harris. He is the son of John Harris and wife name unknown, and his profile already exists in Thomas Harris-10457.
We need a separate family of Thomas Harris-2217, husband of Miriam Willey, with many children. This Thomas Harris is already shown with correct parents of Daniel and Mary (Weld) Harris.
I propose
1. disconnect Ruth James from Harris-2217. (She is already connected as wife to Harris-10457)
2. disconnect son Nathaniel Harris from Harris-2217, and connect him to Harris-10457.
3. restore Fairfield, CT as death location for Harris-2217.
I have researched the Harris family of Killingworth, CT & Easthampton, Long Island whose sons migrated to New Jersey for many years. Please see the sources on those profiles if you have questions, or contact me.
Please indicate approval or otherwise of this plan so we may know how to proceed.
