DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Edward by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Edward:

Richard, we are looking for stronger evidence for the identity of Edward's parents. Can you please check your notes to see what you've got on this? We've already determined that the Thomas Harris/Alice West couple who married in 1635 remained in England. See the g2g thread arrached to the current father here. Thanks!

I checked, Jillaine. The only thing I find is LDS and that's not strong enough to fight over. I picked up my father's old hobby when I got my first computer in 1983. The genealogy world was different then, besides, I was only doing it for the family. So I got material where I could find it. I have corrected what I could as I go along. However, I have nearly 26,000 records to deal with, so I'm going to have some errors I don't catch. Frankly, with the colonial Harris family, I have been waiting for the smoke to clear and see if I agree with what has come out of the discussions. In short, my data on Edward just isn't strong.

inventory for Edward died 1677 was filed by George Hardy (Edward's widow Martha had died) in Isle of Wight County.

looking at info on his father's profile... Wife is Martha Hardy & birth is probably Charles City County, not Isle of Wight.

sorry! inventory, not will. Another transcript of the inventory is at http://files.usgwarchives.net/va/isleofwight/wills/harris4.txt and included a note at bottom of page:

Martha HARRIS is thought to have been the sister of George HARDY, who administered the estate. The Inventory & appraisal of the estate of Edward HARRIS, dated 12 May 1677, appears in the same volume on p. 149, with a nearly identical inventory.

Could be this Edward's wife.
